Hmmmm, well mine is the Chinese version, if that helps. Now you have me wondering if the DLC really did censor the game and I just wasn't paying attention... be right back.
Okay, so the gore is definitely there still. Wonder why some people get censored and others don't?

I should clarify that one girlfriend is human, the other is an Xbox 360 (they can both be just as demanding).
Yeah, not even I'm sure if that's supposed to be innuendo.
I have the uncensored version of Left4 Dead 2 and downloaded The Passing with no dramas or censoring, via an Australian Xbox live account.
You can quote me on that.

You must not have had the latest HBC installed, as 4.3 does not delete the latest version. I think it kills the various custom IOS, but the actual channel should stay.
Guess I'll find out soon enough...
Re: Metroid: Other M (6 days ago)
I did a backup using BootMii, because predictably enough, it kills your HBC to death. Does not just stop it from working, it removes that sucker completely.
Really enjoying this game so far, love the relatively simple controls and haven't really had any problems with the switching perspectives.
One thing bothers me, though: doesn't she get dizzy with all that constant somersaulting. I mean, the last thing you want is to be puking in that helmet.

Re: Your newest purchase (6 days ago)
Picked up one of these today...
Acer Aspire AS4741G-434G50MN Laptop, $798 after cash back from Harvey Norman.
For those keeping score:
14" Screen
Core i5 2.26 GHz
4GB Ram
5000 GB HDD
GeForce 320M
Windows 7 Home Premium
Don't think that is too bad a price for an i5 laptop. Seriously thought I was going to be in the store all night while he proceeded to try and sell me EVERY SINGLE COMPUTER ACCESSORY EVER INVENTED. I know it's his job, but Jesus...
Apologies for the crappy stock photo.

The Burn Notice finale was last week apparently.. didn't feel like a finale.
EDIT: Okay, maybe you are half right, according to Wikipedia "The 12 episode summer season ended on August 26, with the final six episodes broadcast beginning on November 11, 2010."
Technically, though, it's still season 4.
Re: What are you watching? (TV Discussion) (1 week ago)
So I have been reacquainting myself with Parker Lewis Can't Lose, approximately twenty years after I first saw the show... and it's still damn funny. Coolness.
Also, I have an unhealthy fixation with the Deadliest Warrior. It's such a stupid show, but I love watching them test out all the weapons. So many shiny weapons...

Re: Mafia II Thread - An Offer You Can't Refuse (1 week ago)
This game sure has some nice touches, for example:
I was on a bit of a crime spree, robbing stores at gunpoint etc. At one point, I got into a bit of a disagreement with the cops, shots were exchanged, you know how it goes. I got into my car and fled, heading for the nearest clothing store, so I could change my appearance. I arrive, go inside, and there are two cops talking to the shop assistant.
"He's the one!" she cries, and before I even know what is happening, the cops shoot me down.
Looks like I had robbed that store earlier in the spree and had forgotten about it.
Touche, 2K Games, very clever.

Picked up Mafia II on PS3 for $89 at JB. Great game, picked up the apparently inferior (I can't tell) version for the exclusive DLC. First new release game I've bought in ages.
And stopped into Borders on the way home for Dexter is Delicious by Jeff Lindsay, only $19.99 instead of $32.99, pretty happy with that.

EDIT: For the record, I too am not a big fan of anime. I dont watch a lot of it as I dislike a lot of Japanese animation, as well as the cultural barrier between their work and a Western upbringing. But its directors like Satoshi Kon and Miyazaki that show how good and unique it can be.
Re: What made you smile today? (2 weeks ago)
My friend introduced me to 500 ml cans of Oettinger pilsner lager, $10.75 per six pack ($43 per slab/carton/whatever). That's some very good, very cheap beer...
Meanwhile, on the can it says "Brewed according to the German Purity Law", which could be taken any number of ways, depending on the audience. As for myself, I'm picturing poor Hans being escorted from the factory by jackbooted thugs and being summarily executed with a Luger slug to the temple for failing to ensure the purity of the barley...
Seriously, though, you have to love the German Purity Law, which according to some, ensures no hangover the next morning... shame the same can't be said about the Third Reich!
Thank you, I'll be here all week.

Tempted to go, as I feel like it would be horrid considering his last notable appearance (aside from SBTB) was his porn tape.

So I did my democratic duty. Managed to avoid the pamphlet whores entirely when I noticed there were two different directions from which to approach the polling booth. I slipped into the bushes ninja-style and emerged right near the door. Only one of them noticed me and it was too late by then.
Then, when asked if I had voted already today, I started silently counting on my fingers. I'm not sure she was completely convinced it was a joke.
And I numbered all the boxes, what a massive pain in the ass. I wonder how many well meaning people invalidate their vote by stuffing this up. I wonder if I stuffed it up. Quite possibly.
